What On Wednesday, April 10, in a Special Town Meeting, the people of Canton approved expenditure of $3,000 from the Public Works budget to fund the town’s share of developing a tree plan for Collinsville.
The tree inventory and re-planting plan is just the beginning! With help from Canton's active environmental community, the Canton Land Conservation Trust, and the many concerned citizens who came and voted YES, we will work to raise matching funds and actually plant the recommended trees.
It doesn't end with Collinsville, either! We can go on to develop tree plans for Canton's other historic villages.
Best of all, now we know where the Lorax went when he hoisted himself and took leave of that place... He is here in Canton, speaking for the trees!
